Lautreamont Concerts is the new resident ensemble of the Chelsea Art Museum. We will be performing there in a new program of works by Beethoven, Turina and Piazzolla tangos on Thursday, May 15 at 7:00 pm. Please see our Upcoming Concert page for all the details.

The musicians of Lautreamont Concerts attempt, at every stroke of the bow and every touch of the keyboard, to recreate some of the illusion and mystery of Lautreamont, through original programming, fresh interpretations and an open imagination.

We pride ourselves on our programming. At our concerts, there is no set style of music or ensemble, we perform what we will feel inspired to play.

We want to convey our passion of the great music we perform with the broadest possible audience. Whether you are new to classical music or a longtime concertgoer, we hope to share the joy and excitement of our performances with you.

See you at the concert!

Lautreamont Concerts
Golden Age Concerts for a Modern Audience

Isidore Ducasse, Comte de Lautreamont, was one of the great literary figures of the late nineteenth century, and a precursor of Surrealism. His mysterious death at the age of twenty-four remains unexplained. It is said that Lautreamont wrote at night seated at his piano, declaiming his sentences as he wrote them, punctuating his harangues with violent chords on the keyboard.
